Seedling Cooler Sales - Morgan County and John P. Rhody Nurseries

The division's Morgan County Tree Nursery is holding a tree cooler seedling sale at their facility located on Highway 705 in West Liberty, Kentucky. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.  The seedlings are priced at $15 per 10 bundle and $25 per 100 bundle.  Only personal checks and money orders will be accepted; no cash or credit cards will be accepted.  For more information on species available and directions, please contact Charles Saunders or Tami Adkins at 606-743-3511 or 1-800-866-1033.

The division's John P. Rhody Tree Nursery will also be holding a tree cooler seedling sale at their facility located at 515 John P. Rhody Lane, just off Highway 282W near Gilbertsville, Kentucky.  The sale will begin on Wednesday, May 7 and conclude on Saturday, May 10 and sale hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.  Seedling prices and approved payments are the same as above.  For more information on species available and directions, please contact Joanna Davidson or Dana Bosch at 270-362-8331 or 1-800-866-0803.

2008 Volunteer Fire Department Grants - Now Available

Applications for 2008 Volunteer Fire Department Grant program are currently being accepted.   The objective of the program is to improve the capability and effectiveness of Kentucky's rural volunteer fire departments to protect lives and property.

2008 Urban and Community Forestry Grants - Now Available

Applications for the 2008 Urban and Community Forestry Assistance Grant program are currently being accepted.  The goal of this grant program is to encourage citizen involvement in creating and supporting long-term and sustained Urban and Community Forestry programs.

New Publications Available

2004 Kentucky Forest Inventory Report
This publication is the official report of the data from the fifth survey of Kentucky's forest resources, which was completed in 2004.  The report includes data on the extent, condition and classification of forest land in Kentucky. 

2005 Timber Product Output Report for Kentucky
This report contains the findings of a 2005 survey of all primary wood-using plants in Kentucky and presents changes in product output and residue use since 2003. 

2007 Kentucky Primary Wood Industries Directory
This publication provides information on the primary wood industries located in Kentucky. 

2008 Secondary Wood Industries Directory of Kentucky
This publication provides information on the secondary wood industries located in Kentucky.
